Ashiatsu massage in austin

Is Ashiatsu massage right for me?

  • This Ashiatsu massage is perfect for the deep tissue massage lover, weekend warrior, and serious athlete.

What to expect from an ashiatsu session?

  • During  ashiatsu massage the massage therapist uses the heels and palms of their feet instead of their hands and forearms. Using gliding strokes and oil this massage makes for an amazing deep tissue massage but can be extremely relaxing because the way the brain senses deep pressure with a large tool such as the foot, it can't pin point the pressure the same as from pointy objects like the elbow or finger tips. 2 sturdy poles run along the table for the therapist to hold onto their balance as they use rocking, compression, and gliding movements along the body. During your session the therapist controls the amount of body pressure they use checking in on what is comfortable for you during the session and is able to apply their full body weight if necessary.

How often should one receive ashiatsu massage?

  • Their is no special limit to sessions you may have but is recommended every 2 weeks - once a month for best results when trying to benefit fully from massage.

Restrictions :

  • Those who have had any major surgeries, blood clots, or serious medical conditions must inquire within and massage may be contraindicated for a period of time.

What to expect during your first massage visit?

  • Your massage therapist will have you fill out a health history form followed by some general questions to establish the areas you need massaged.

What to wear when coming in for a massage?

  • Dress comfortably, if getting a full body massage most people will undress completely, however you may choose to keep on undergarments. During the massage areas not being massaged will be covered and draped while the therapist works on other areas.

How to choose the length of your massage?

  • The average full body massage takes approximately 1 hour. If you have more than 2 focus areas we recommend a 90 minute massage. The 30 minute appointment only allows time for a partial massage session such as, neck/ shoulders, back or legs/ feet.

Massage skin care and waxing q&a

How often should I get a facial?

  • This depends on your skin type, skin goals and skin condition. Once a month may be ideal for someone who wants to take good care of their skin. We recommend getting a facial at least four times a year, when the seasons change.

How do I know if a peel or microdermabrasion is right for me?

  • Regardless of your skin type you can benefit from either of these treatments. We have a large range of peels for different skin types and conditions. You can setup a free consultation with one of our licensed estheticians for more information.

How often can I get a peel?

  • Mild peels can be done once a month. If you have acne prone skin or hyperpigmentation you should commit to five to ten peels in order to get the best results.
